Asian and Pacific Conference on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment: Beijing+20 Review

In 1995, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action was adopted by the Fourth World Conference on Women, and subsequently endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1996.  The Beijing Platform for Action constitutes a global framework for realising gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

Book Launch "Women's Right to Equality: The Promise of CEDAW"

This paper enshrines the concept of equality through CEDAW to provide a resource for the ASEAN Intergovernmental Human Rights Commission (AICHR) in its engagement with the ASEAN governments using international standards in promoting and protecting the human rights of women and girl children.

Regional Consultation with National Women's Machineries on Strengthening CEDAW Implementation, Monitoring and Accountability

Asia Pacific Civil Society Forum on Beijing +20 (CSO Forum on Beijing +20)

Beijing+20 India CSO National Consultation

Date: 11-12 August 2014
Venue: Jacaranda Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, India
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days 

The consultation will feature panels on the Beijing+20 process, freedom from violence, women’s security, resources and capabilities, voice and agency, macroeconomic policy and women’s rights, in addition to special multi-stakeholder sessions on inter-generational solidarity, CEDAW, interface with parliamentarians and high-engagement group work, which will cover BPfA’s 12 critical areas of concern:
