The marginalization of Dalit women is specifically compounded by the absence of quality education and supportive infrastructure. The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Scheme (KGBVS) was launched to enable girls, predominantly from marginalized communities, to avail upper primary education through residential schooling.
