International Women’s Day panel discussion on Equal Partners: Realising the Potential of Women in the Workplace

Bangkok, Thailand – The Australian Alumni and the Australian Thai Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Australian Embassy Bangkok celebrated on 8 March, International Women’s Day, with a panel discussion on Equal Partners: Realising the Potential of Women in the Workplace. Involving Thai and Australian business leaders, this event will celebrate women’s voices in decision-making and leadership and aims to support Thai and Australian women’s participation in sustainable economic growth.
Australian Ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Mr Paul Robilliard become a HeForShe advocate and joined a number of male embassy staff to pledge support to the #HeForShe campaign. “I am proud to announce that on International Women’s Day, I pledged our support for the HeForShe campaign to stand up against the persisting inequalities faced by women and girls globally”, said Mr Ambassador.
Three outstanding women were invited to the panel discussion as guest speakers and business leaders: Sarinrath Kamolratanapiboon, General Manager of Design World Partnership; Pratamaporn Svasti-Xuto, Executive Vice-President, Governance and Corporate Affairs of ANZ Bank, and Sally O’Hara, Country President, Thailand of ACE Life Assurance.
Australia’s new strategy on gender equality and women’s empowerment will work towards enhancing women’s voices in decision-making, leadership and peacebuilding; promoting women’s economic empowerment and ending violence against women and girls. “I signed up to become a HeForShe advocate because I believe that gender equality is central to economic and human development. Australia is working to achieve equitable gender outcomes globally," added Ambassador Robilliard.
