Since 2014, Australia has contributed over USD 37m of non-core funding in support of UN Women’s operations across the region, making it UN Women’s largest non-core donor in Asia and the Pacific. In 2018, Australia supported UN Women’s activities in Fiji, Afghanistan and Papua New Guinea on various topics such as women’s economic empowerment, peace & security, and leadership & political participation. Additionally, Australia supports regional programmes on gender statistics and ending violence against women.
