Over the past 5 years, Canada has contributed over USD 5.5m of non-core funding in support of UN Women’s activities in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2018, Canada supported UN Women’s work in Bangladesh, Lao PDR and Fiji on women’s economic empowerment and ending violence against women. In the past, Canada has also supported a multiannual regional programme on improving women’s rights in Southeast Asia.
