Increased economic empowerment of women, especially for those most excluded
Supporting the rights of female migrant workers
UN Women is part of the third phase of the Regional Programme on Empowering Female Migrant Workers. The project aims to enhance the capacity of government and other relevant agencies to ensure female migrants’ rights and entitlements are protected. This is implemented through improving gender-sensitive recruitment practices, the provision of comprehensive services to promote economic and social welfare, and increase greater awareness of female migrant’s rights.
The strategies introduced in Viet Nam build on the good practices and lessons learnt in other countries, as well as initiating strategies that respond to the specific conditions in Viet Nam. The project adopts a multi-stakeholder, gender-responsive and rights-based approach.
