This book brings to life the lived experiences of eight remarkable women from Central Sulawesi, each embodying the spirit of peace and resilience. Their stories are woven into the fabric of the WPS agenda and are organized around its four pillars, which are the guiding principles that frame both the challenges women face in conflict and the roles they play in building peace.

Through their lived experiences, these women illuminate the challenges and triumphs of advocating for peace in the face of conflict and disaster. Their journeys underscore the undeniable link between gender equality and sustainable peace, demonstrating that when women lead, communities thrive. Many of these stories are rooted in the historical backdrop of the Poso conflict, earthquake and recovery, climate change and the ongoing movement of women-led organizations to integrate women’s leadership in peacebuilding processes.
