Gender Lens Investing (GLI) is gaining momentum globally as investors increasingly recognise that integrating gender considerations throughout the investment lifecycle can strengthen governance, improve risk management, unlock value creation opportunities, and contribute to sustainable development. Yet, adoption within the private equity sector in China remains at an early stage, underscoring the need for practical guidance tailored to the local market.

Building on the White Paper on Gender Lens Investing in China’s Private Equity Industry (2025), this toolkit offers a practical follow-up, shifting the focus from the “why” to the “how” of GLI implementation. Developed by UN Women China and the China PE ESG Initiative for Dual Carbon Goals (CID), it combines international good practices with the market context in China to provide a practical framework spanning the full lifecycle of private equity investment – fundraising, investment, management and exit.

The toolkit introduces an integrated ecosystem framework and establishes a comprehensive indicator framework covering both institutional governance and full lifecycle investment processes. It provides a suite of practical tools, including phased implementation roadmaps, indicator guidance, and due diligence questionnaires. Together, these resources aim to support private equity firms in systematically integrating gender considerations into institutional governance structures and investment decision-making. By strengthening the capacity of private equity firms to adopt gender lens investing, the toolkit aims to channel more capital towards gender equality and women’s empowerment, and foster a more inclusive and sustainable private equity ecosystem in China. In doing so, it supports the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and advances progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

当前，性别视角投资（Gender Lens Investing，GLI）实践在全球范围内不断发展，越来越多投资者认识到，将性别视角系统融入投资全生命周期，不仅有助于完善机构治理、提升风险管理能力和创造长期价值，也能够推动可持续发展。然而，中国私募股权行业的性别视角投资实践仍处于起步阶段，亟需建立兼具国际经验与本土适用性的实践框架和实施指引。

在《中国私募股权行业性别视角投资白皮书（2025）》的基础上，本工具包作为其实践延伸，重点实现从“为何做”向“如何做”的转变，为行业提供可操作的实施路径。本工具包由联合国妇女署中国办公室与私募股权行业ESG倡议（CID）联合编制，立足于全球良好实践与中国行业实际，结合私募股权行业“募、投、管、退”的全生命周期，构建了一套具有实践指导意义的性别视角投资实践指南。

本工具包勾勒了性别视角投资的生态体系框架，建立了覆盖内部内部治理与投资全流程的核心指标体系，并配套提供分阶段推进路线图、指标解读、尽调问卷等实操工具，支持行业各主体将性别视角系统融入机构内部治理和投资决策，推动性别视角投资从理念认知迈向实践落地。

通过提升私募股权机构开展性别视角投资的能力，本工具包旨在引导更多资本支持性别平等和妇女赋权，推动构建更加包容、更具韧性、更可持续的中国私募股权投资生态系统。同时，工具包致力于支持《北京宣言》和《行动纲领》的落实，并为实现《2030年可持续发展议程》及可持续发展目标（SDGs）作出贡献。
