The Gender Marker Toolkit, under the National Resilience Program (NRP), has been designed to strengthen and develop the gender work of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) which already has a Gender Equity Strategy and Action Plan and an active Gender Forum. The Toolkit aims to raise awareness, understanding, and skills in ensuring gender responsiveness throughout all project stages and for all asset types that the Bangladesh Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) works on. It also aims to strengthen LGED’s influencer role with other Ministries and Departments.

To strengthens capacities of class II and class III officers of the federal government, a manual on Gender Equality Social Inclusion (GESI) and Gender Responsive Budget (GRB) was developed by Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) in collaboration with, and with technical support from, UN Women. The manual is the first of its kind, as it brings together two distinct concepts of GRB and GESI and demonstrates how GRB can be used as a tool for advancing GESI.

In 2009, UN Women (then UNIFEM) produced a Report based on a scoping mission that mapped and assessed options as well as strategic entry points for work on GRB. With various changes in key laws and policies pertinent to gender equality during the past six years, in 2015, UN Women in Viet Nam decided to revisit the 2009 Report’s findings and recommendations, validate their relevance six year later and identify current opportunities to introduce GRB in Viet Nam.
