This report is based on an assessment of COVID-19 fiscal stimulus response and policy measures in nine countries in Asia and the Pacific (Cambodia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam).

This report on Social protection for Women and Girls in Viet Nam in the period 2012-2020 aims to assess the status and results of the implementation of social protection policies for women and girls within the framework of Resolution No. 15 in the period 2012-2020 and to propose policy recommendations to advance the gender mainstreaming in the development of the new Resolution on social protection policies toward 2030.

The costing studies sought to raise awareness and shed light on the detrimental economic impact of Intimate Partner Violence on society and support advocacy efforts to invest in prevention and response efforts to meaningful address gender-based violence in RMI and Solomon Islands.

The objective of the report is to examine the legal gaps that are hindering expenditure allocation and reporting on the landscape of expenditures on GE. Subsequently, a step-by-step roadmap has been presented to strengthen the development, implementation and tracking of gender-responsive budgets toward the achievement of national commitments to the SDGs.

This study aims to assess the status and results of the implementation of social protection for women and girls within the framework of Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW on a number of social policy issues for the period 2012-2020 in Viet Nam. The project works across the Mekong subregion, namely in Thailand and Viet Nam, where the concept of SD-GRP is still in the nascent stages of development. The impacts of multiple, overlapping crises arising from climate change, pandemics and conflict disproportionately affect women, exacerbate existing inequalities and deepen power imbalances. In contexts where disasters and conflict risks intersect, responses need to recognize that women perform various roles in disaster and conflict prevention, have access to different information and services, and are impacted differently — yet they are overwhelmingly excluded from decision-making processes and mechanisms.

The main objectives of this report are to: a) review six NAPs to implement global, regional and national normative frameworks on WPS that can inform the NAP path for Viet Nam. This brief highlights emerging trends and impacts of COVID-19 on violence against women and girls facilitated by information and communications technology (ICT). It provides examples of strategies and practices put in place to prevent and respond to online and ICT-facilitated violence against women and girls. The note is intended to support universities and university administrators, UN staff working with universities in this area, civil society partners, students and other relevant stakeholders—particularly in middle- and low-income countries where there are few resources for addressing violence against women. Universities should adopt targeted measures to address the needs of specific groups, including those most vulnerable and at risk (e.g. students with disabilities, migrants, and those from ethnic minorities, lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) individuals).

This facilitator’s handbook is designed for women peace activists and women leaders. Its purpose is to empower women leaders and women peace activists by giving them the necessary tools that will not only promote and increase their effective participation in the peace processes but equip them with the information and techniques to train other women peace activists.
