This study concluded that the promotion of gender equality and women’s access to justice required not only the enactment of new laws that were compliant with international standards such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) but that these laws should be implemented by a gender-sensitive administration of justice.
