The Long Road to Equality: Taking stock of the situation of women and girls in Asia and the Pacific for Beijing+25, A synthesis report
The year 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action, and this report takes stock of the progress that has been made since by member States to realize women’s and girls’ rights. It reflects a synthesis of member State actions to implement the Beijing Platform for Action and identifies areas where significant progress has been made on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The report summarizes recommendations from a national consultation on the post-2015 development framework and include reports from a range of national convenors including the Government of India, trade unions, industry groups, women’s associations, farmer’s associations, research institutions, civil society networks and youth organizations.
This report covers a joint resolution by women peace activists from South Asia that was presented to the United Nations Secretary-General.
