Language used in different communication materials and trainings puts forward specific positions and impressions, including at times perpetuating stereotypes. Taking forward the spirit of Agenda 2030, the programme reached out to women from excluded and marginalised groups: returnee women migrant workers, survivors of human trafficking, conflict-affected women, rural women, women living with HIV and AIDS and home-based workers. In addition to training women to support income generation and leadership, the AWEE Programme also engaged with stakeholders such as national and sub-national governments, the private sector, civil society and communities to address discriminatory social norms and harmful practices. This coffee table book brings together stories which demonstrate that when women have economic opportunities, families and communities are supportive, and resources (financial, knowledge) are accessible; transformative change is possible.

[Stories of Rohingya women seeking refuge in Cox’s Bazar] Since late August 2017, more than 715,000 Rohingya’s have fled Burma’s Rakhine State to escape the military’s large-scale campaign of ethnic cleansing. UN Women Bangladesh, through the development of this photo book, documents the resilience and transformation of Rohingya women in the crisis response in Cox’s Bazar, along with human interest stories that demonstrate strength, agency and leadership.

To strengthens capacities of class II and class III officers of the federal government, a manual on Gender Equality Social Inclusion (GESI) and Gender Responsive Budget (GRB) was developed by Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) in collaboration with, and with technical support from, UN Women. The manual is the first of its kind, as it brings together two distinct concepts of GRB and GESI and demonstrates how GRB can be used as a tool for advancing GESI.
