This report on Social protection for Women and Girls in Viet Nam in the period 2012-2020 aims to assess the status and results of the implementation of social protection policies for women and girls within the framework of Resolution No. 15 in the period 2012-2020 and to propose policy recommendations to advance the gender mainstreaming in the development of the new Resolution on social protection policies toward 2030.

UN Women in India has adopted a multi-pronged approach to advance the goal of gender equality through interventions that support the formulation of gender policies and norms at par with global standards. Our Inter-governmental Processes (IGP) programme works with the Government of India in supporting an enabling environment necessary for the fulfillment of India’s international commitments to advance the goal of gender equality. Through the Generation Equality Forum (GEF) initiative, we provide a platform for dialogue and action on gender-based issues. Our support of global peacekeeping efforts has ensured that women play a decisive leadership role in UN humanitarian and peacekeeping efforts. UN Women has an important role in working across the UN in India, supporting and coordinating the UN system’s work in support of gender equality and the empowerment of women.

Based on the principles of respect and equality, and lessons learned from evidence-based results on what works in preventing violence from occurring and recurring, the World Health Organization (WHO) and UN Women, in collaboration with ten other UN, bilateral, and multilateral agencies, have developed “RESPECT Women: Preventing violence against women”. This publication provides a comprehensive framework to inform policy makers and implementers about designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating interventions and programmes on preventing and responding to violence against women.

This study aims to assess the status and results of the implementation of social protection for women and girls within the framework of Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW on a number of social policy issues for the period 2012-2020 in Viet Nam. The report provides policy recommendations to provide information to complete a new document on Social Policy for the period of 2023 - 2030, with a vision to 2045 and focus on advocating for gender responsive social policies.

Implementing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda has long been recognised as essential to achieving sustainable peace and prosperity in the ASEAN region. ASEAN member states remain committed to gender equality and the full protection of women’s rights. They also remain steadfast in their aim to maintain regional peace, address shared security concerns and advance development and prosperity for all citizens. Member states consider the development of this Regional Plan of Action on Women, Peace and Security (RPA WPS) as a critical step to making progress on these commitments. The RPA WPS aims to mobilise the whole of ASEAN to advance implementation of the WPS agenda to promote sustainable peace and security for all citizens.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has, in recent years, substantively advanced efforts to address emerging protection, gender and inclusion (PGI) issues in disaster management. In line with the vision of One ASEAN One Response, in October 2021 the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) launched the ASEAN Regional Framework on Protection, Gender, and Inclusion in Disaster Management 2021-2025 (ARF-PGI). This serves as the main PGI strategy to all ACDM working groups for the implementation of the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER) Work Programme 2021-2025. The present Guidelines for Operationalising the ARF-PGI serve as a prioritisation and planning toolkit to support regional bodies working in a cross-sectoral manner on PGI issues in disaster management, and national disaster-management actors, in concrete operationalisation of the AADMER Work Programme 2021-2025.

This facilitator’s handbook is designed for women peace activists and women leaders. Its purpose is to empower women leaders and women peace activists by giving them the necessary tools that will not only promote and increase their effective participation in the peace processes but equip them with the information and techniques to train other women peace activists.

This report on the proceedings of the global conference “Gender-inclusive peace processes: Strengthening women’s meaningful participation through constituency building” explores current challenges, best practices, and recommendations on how best to leverage the practice of constituency building to further gender-inclusive peace.

This baseline study of UN Women’s anti-trafficking programme recognizes structural inequalities, vulnerabilities and lack of sustainable livelihoods as the chief causes of human trafficking.

This policy brief is an effort to highlight critical gender concerns in key government interventions such as Swadhar Greh, Swadhar and Short Stay Homes, and provide policy recommendations to address them. It culls out gaps in policies, implementation and budgets, and suggests how these schemes can be strengthened.

UN women supported the parliamentary forum on “the promotion and protection of the rights of migrant workers” held on 12 November 2012. More than 200 representatives from legislative and executive bodies of the Royal Government of Cambodia, representatives of the diplomatic communities, development partners, UN agencies, NGOs, trade unions, recruitment agencies and women migrant workers participated in the forum.

The study examines how safe the two city areas are for women and girls and explores the relationship between women’s fear of violence and their avoidance of specific public spaces.
