Climate change is a threat multiplier that exacerbates conflict and insecurity across different contexts. This UN Women Guidance Note is the first comprehensive resource to address the linkages between climate, peace and security through the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) framework. It offers a practical, evidence-based approach to integrating climate change into WPS National Action Plans, drawing on experiences from across Asia and the Pacific.

It highlights case studies and suggests pathways for effective integration, with the aim of fostering resilient and secure communities, including through the leadership and meaningful participation of women in response to the escalating climate crisis. Join our speakers as they share regional and national experiences.

This Guidance Note was developed with the generous support of Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
