Women Transform: Celebrating Women Making a Difference

The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), MyGov India, India’s first of its kind participatory governance initiative, and the United Nations in India have launched an online contest to crowdsource stories from across India that celebrate the indomitable spirit of women who have made a difference – ‘Women Transforming India’.

The campaign was launched on International Women’s Day 2016 and is inviting stories of women breaking new ground, empowering herself and/or others or challenging stereotypes.

Details of the contest

  • Entries should be in the form of a written essay, of no more than 500 words, in English or Hindi, accompanied by one or more relevant photographs.
  • The contest is open until 15 April 2016. Entries must be submitted onlineat https://mygov.in/task/women-transforming-india-womentransform
  • A jury constituted by NITI Aayog will shortlist of 8-10 best entries, which will be put to a poll on myGov.in to determine the top three entries.
  • The winners, including the writer and the protagonist of the story, will receive a certificate of appreciation from NITI Aayog and the UN in India and may also have a chance to interact directly with policy makers in the Government of India.

To participate, follow these simple steps

  1. Go to https://mygov.in/task/women-transforming-india-womentransform. You will be asked to log-in to submit the task.
  2. The page will re-direct you to the registration page of myGov. Please follow the simple registration process to become a registered user of myGov.in and
  3. Submit your entry!
