Panel: “Empowering Women Means Business” at ASEAN Women CEOs Summit
Private sector leaders, social entrepreneurs along with European Union and UN officials will meet in Bangkok to discuss the business case for gender equality and women’s economic empowerment at a panel hosted as part of the ASEAN Women CEOs Summit.

WHAT: The Regional Programme, “WeEmpowerAsia” by UN Women in partnership with the European Union (EU) will host the panel “Empowering Women Means Business” as part of the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN) Women CEOs Summit.
The event is expected to raise awareness of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and catalyze commitments to invest in gender-inclusive business environments.

The ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN) is a network of business women in the region, operating to exchange knowledge, experience; develop and propose initiatives to promote economic and trade activities in order to enhance gender equality, empower and strengthen entrepreneurship skills for women in ASEAN Community; create favorable environment for female-led enterprises and support for women entrepreneurship in the region.
"WeEmpowerAsia" is a regional programme by the European Union and UN Women, aimed to increase the number of women who lead, participate and access to business opportunities and leadership within the private sector to advance sustainable and inclusive growth in China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, whilst fostering more gender-equal trade opportunities with Europe.
