Thailand’s top designer Vatanika Patamasingh joins UN Women’s Fundraising campaign tailored to empower women and girls in need as “Empower Woman Champion for Change” and commits to raise fund for them.

“I see a group of strong women that if only they have more knowledge and education, they will be able to protect themselves, to make a living, to look after their children and family. And most importantly, to live again.”

– Vatanika

Vatanika became the first woman in senior management in Thailand to formally commit to Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) after leading her company to sign the initiative and committed to support UN Women’s fundraising campaign, to promote UN Women’s economic empowerment initiatives and to promote gender equality in the fashion and design industry in Thailand.

Highlighting that when women are empowered and earn an income, they invest back into their families and communities, Vatanika supports the Multi-Purpose Women Centres for women refugees in Cox’s Bazaar and has invited the public to join her efforts for the fundraising campaign launched by UN Women on International Women’s Day 2019.
