Call for Proposals Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Vanuatu

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) has launched a Call for Proposals under the Pacific Partnership to End Violence Against Women and Girls (Pacific Partnership) Phase II (2024–2027). This Call invites civil society organisations (CSOs), in particular women’s rights organisations and feminist networks, to advance feminist climate justice by strengthening partnerships between women’s rights and climate movements in the Pacific.

The Pacific Partnership Phase II brings together governments, civil society organisations, communities, and other partners to promote gender equality, prevent violence against women and girls, and increase access to quality response services for survivors. The Pacific Partnership is funded primarily by the Government of Australia, and the European Union,  and coordinated by UN Women and the Pacific Community (SPC), in strategic partnership with the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF).

This Call seeks to support initiatives that:

  • Empower women’s and feminist networks to lead evidence-based advocacy shaping climate and resilience policies.
  • Generate and apply evidence on the intersection of climate change, climate action, and violence against women and girls (VAWG).
  • Amplify Pacific feminist perspectives in national, regional, and global policy forums, including COP, CSW, the Pacific Resilience Facility, and other key convenings.

Projects are expected to deliver inclusive and sustainable results aligned with the Pacific Partnership’s Theory of Change, global and regional commitments (CEDAW, PLGED, Beijing+30, SDGs 5, 13, and 16), and the outcome and output framework of the Pacific Partnership Phase II.

Programmatic funding: from USD 100,000 to 150,000
To finance activities that strengthen coalitions of women’s rights and climate justice organisations, develop knowledge products, convene dialogues, and support advocacy efforts that link EVAWG and climate justice.

Proposals should cover an 18-month period, with a detailed work plan for the first year and an indicative plan for the remaining six months. Proposals must demonstrate how interventions will progressively deepen and sustain impact over time.

Applicants must be nationally registered civil society organisations with at least five years of experience advancing gender equality, women’s empowerment, and/or EVAWG, with demonstrated technical expertise in feminist approaches, advocacy, and/or climate justice. Organisations must be based in any of the implementing Pacific Partnership countries (Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Vanuatu).
