This set of infographics was developed as part of UN Women’s Wave Makers Initiative, with support from the Government of Sweden through the Women in Politics Fund administered by UN Women HQ.

The series presents a visual snapshot of the current state of women’s political representation across the Pacific region, highlighting both regional patterns and country-level trends. Through accessible data visualizations and timelines of key milestones, the materials illustrate the continued underrepresentation of women in political decision-making while recognising the progress made by women leaders across the region.

The infographic set includes:

  • A regional overview of women’s representation in politics across the Pacific and Micronesia
  • Country profiles for Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, and Papua New Guinea

Each country infographic combines: historical milestones for women’s political leadership; current representation of women in parliament and executive leadership, and trends in women’s candidacy in recent elections.

Together, these materials provide a clear picture of the scale of the representation gap and serve as an advocacy resource to support dialogue on gender parity, inclusive leadership, and political reform across the Pacific.

The infographics are designed for use by policymakers, civil society organisations, researchers, and development partners working to advance women’s political participation and leadership in the region.
