A formal portrait shows Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha seated on an intricately carved gold chair on a red carpet. The setting features a symmetrical backdrop of red, white and blue draped fabric, with a stylized emblem centered above. Her Royal Highness wears a patterned long-sleeve dress and dark shoes, sitting upright with legs crossed at the ankles and hands resting on the lap. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati. As a UNIFEM and later UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati was a committed advocate for ending violence against women in all its forms and to advancing gender equality. Her leadership and commitment to women’s rights will be remembered with profound respect and gratitude.

During her tenure, Her Royal Highness's advocacy contributed to greater public awareness and national efforts to address domestic violence, which were reflected in the enactment and implementation of Thailand's Domestic Violence Victim Protection Act B.E. 2550 (2007), one of the country's landmark legal frameworks for the protection of women and children from domestic violence.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family of Thailand and to the people of Thailand during this time of mourning.
