First time at a BIG international conference

Date: 28 November 2014

This is the first time in my life I have taken part in one of the biggest international conferences. The first time in my life I have had the priceless opportunity to observe many distinguished delegates from every country in Asia Pacific and witness their negotiations with my own eyes.

The first time in my life I have realized every single word can change a lot of people’s life. What an amazing time!

Being a “young, fresh, green” Vietnamese advocate for Human Rights in general and Women’s Human Rights in particular, I realize the hard “journey” I have in front. However, I have a strong belief in gradual changes. I do believe that when we – human beings close the gap between men and women, a better new world will be open for everyone.

I really love one saying of Henry Ford: “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is a progress, and working together is a success”. It’s true! The Asian and Pacific Conference on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment: Beijing +20 Review is just the beginning. We have still a lot of things to do. But if we are united, nothing is impossible! We can change the world and make it a better place. It’s in our hands to make a difference.
