With the support of the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) through the Cambodian National Council of Women (CNCW) and UN Women Cambodia Country Office.

Expectations for the conference:

Activities expected to result in greater interest amongst COB implementing actors and parliamentarians to work together towards ensuring CEDAW-compliant policy through:
  • Assessing the implementation of COB implementation.
  • Providing the government with guidance on how to overcome the obstacles that they face.

Expected Results

  • The participants shall have clarified with the resource speaker and other participants for the specific actions to take to overcome the challenges to the implementation of the COB within their respective areas of responsibility.

Expectations for the conference:

  • Raise awareness and understanding of CEDAW and its framework.
  • Promote an understanding for how these international norms reflect in the national legislations..

Expected Results

  • The participants shall have identified specific actions to start the process of responding to the Concluding Observations.
  • The participants shall have revised laws that are in contravention with the principles of CEDAW and screening new legislative proposals for CEDAW-compliance
