Artists strike their paint brushes to say NO to violence against women in China

Beijing, China - Almost 80 artworks inspired by the freedoms and rights of women were displayed in Beijing at the Chinese Museum of Women and Children to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls held every year on 25 November as the start of the 16 Days of Activism against gender violence.
The exhibition entitled “To Have and To Lose” brought together 16 Chinese and international artists including, Hanna Varis, Chen Qingqing (陈庆庆), Zhao Bang(赵邦), Wang Zhaomin (王昭旻), Li Bo (李博), He Jie (何杰), Song Ling (宋陵), Zong Ning (宗宁), Li Mingzhu (李明铸), Ma Jun (马军), Ai Song (艾松), The Utopia Group (乌托邦小组),including the artists He Hai (何海)and Deng Dafei (邓大非 ), He Jinwei (何晋渭), Huang Min (黄敏) and Zhang Wei (张巍).
The event was celebrated to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the rights of women to live free from domestic violence. It was organized by the UN Theme Group on Gender and the Chinese Museum of Women and Children, in association with the group 1728 Top Art and saw the attendance of guests from the UN system, the diplomatic community and members of the artistic community.
The Embassies of Finland and Australia, UN Women China, Naweng Water Company, NetEase and the Australia China Art Foundation supported the activity.

艺术家用画笔向中国针对女性的暴力说“不”

芬兰驻华大使馆、澳大利亚驻华大使馆、联合国妇女署、广西宝之泉天然水有限公司、网易女人频道以及澳大利亚中国当代艺术基金会为本次活动给予了大力支持。
