What is the #Beijing20 campaign?

“Empowering Women – Empowering Humanity: Picture It!”, is a year-long campaign to mark the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action, considered to be a visionary blueprint for advancing women’s rights in all areas of life. The Campaign is an invitation to global citizens to engage in the conversation, to imagine a world in which gender equality and women’s empowerment is a reality, as well as to discuss existing gaps. It is equally a call to action, for renewed political will, social mobilization and awareness-raising, with a strong focus on visuals and imagination.

A social media package with all content and images is available here (English, Spanish, French): http://ow.ly/x1YFk (embargoed until 22 May @ 12 a.m. EST). After the launch, beginning in early June 2014, the campaign will feature mini-campaigns around each of the monthly topics.

You’ll be able to access new campaign material every month.

Stay tuned to the UN Women homepage for the link to our new Beijing+20 site! And have your say on how to make gender equality and women’s rights a reality!
