Guidelines for Mainstreaming Gender in Inclusive Disaster Management

Women and girls in Cambodia are among the worst affected by climate change-induced disasters. Thus, the National Committee on Disaster Management of Cambodia and UN Women saw the need for more gender-inclusive disaster preparedness and response. The guidelines for mainstreaming gender in disaster management was developed as a tool to assist stakeholders, particularly first responders to disasters but it is also applicable to the work of other key actors including government officials at the sub-national level and CSOs. The Khmer version of the guidelines were printed and launched on 25 November 2021 in Cambodia using a hybrid platform. The document has now been translated into English for wider distribution.
