30 for 2030: 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Am I A Feminist? Addressing the Elephant in the Room

Addressing the elephant in the room

Trying to navigate the world from a feminist perspective can be confusing.

You’ll be surprised to learn that many people, including feminists, struggle or still struggle grappling with the concept and living by it at some point in their lives:

Who can be a feminist?

Why are there so many different types of feminism?

Should we be afraid to be called a feminist?

Why is feminism important for preventing gender-based violence, and how is it linked to climate change, economic rights, and other social issues?

What are the benefits of being a feminist?

Am I feminist enough?

Do I need to have all the answers to call myself a feminist?

These questions are why we – the 30 for 2030 network – created ‘Am I A Feminist?’, an event in conjunction with 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

This event allows us to take the first step in having open conversations with people like you – people confused about feminism but open to learning.

Through this online event, we aim to create a safe space where people can come together to learn, unlearn, and relearn what they know about feminism with our storytellers.

Our storytellers from Asia and the Pacific are diverse.

Am I A Feminist?
Am I A Feminist? The collective of storytellers

During the event, you’ll get a chance to hear their stories of struggle & solidarity and get the opportunity to ask your burning questions through deep discussion.

As you can see, we’re trying to leave no one behind.

If you’re still reading this, we hope to see you at our event:

  • Date: Friday, 25th November 2022
  • Time: 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM (Bangkok Time)
  • Venue: Zoom
