Report of the Pilot Survey on Disaster Affected Households

A pilot survey was conducted by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) with the technical support from UN Women to collect data on Sex, Age, and Disability Disaggregation on climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction in three most climate vulnerable districts of Bangladesh. The survey was done under the regional climate change program, “EmPower”. The report demonstrates “how” to integrate gender equality data into national surveys for climate change and disaster statistics to bolster the nexus between gender equality, climate change and disaster risk reduction from the local to the national level. This will be a reference document for relevant government ministries and departments for more inclusive and gender responsive data collection on climate change and disaster risk reduction that will guide in addressing the varying needs and vulnerabilities of different group of people in climate induced disaster-prone areas.
