This brief presents an overview of the work and highlighted the achievements of several key civil society actors in gender-responsive COVID-19 response and recovery across South Asia. These profiles provide insight into lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and offer recommendations on prioritizing the needs of women and girls in COVID-19 recovery efforts. The perspectives shared in this brief belong to the civil society organizations participating in the event “Partnering towards Gender-Responsive Recovery: A Regional Dialogue on Lessons Learned from the COVID-19 Pandemic” held jointly by UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and the Korean Women’s Development Institute on 7 December 2022.

The regional dialogue and subsequent brief have been made possible by funding from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MOGEF) of the Government of the Republic of Korea through the project “Gender-Responsive COVID-19 Recovery in India.”
