Gender Equality, Human Rights-Based Approach in Climate Action and Renewable Energy E-course
Date: 06 January 2022
Building on our capacity-building efforts over the years, UNEP and UN Women, together with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), have developed an e-learning course on gender equality, human rights and climate change. The main objective of the e-learning course is to provide government officials, policy makers, and financial institutions in the field of climate change with the knowledge and skills to apply gender equality and human rights-based approaches in their climate-related work. Cross-country learning between the EmPower’s focus countries and at the regional level, while providing an avenue for sharing the experiences of Asia and the Pacific to a global audience.
This self-paced 6-hour e-training course is available to the public on One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC:Learn). A moderated cross-country webinar will follow in March 2022. Successful participants will be awarded a UN certificate of completion. Our target groups for this course consist of national policymakers, government officials, and stakeholders in the sectors of climate change, gender equality and renewable energy. It will include renewable energy service providers and officers from financial institutions on renewable energy. The course will also be made available for the regional actors and participants at a global level, which will increase EmPower’s visibility and develop capacity for a broader audience.
