A life free of violence and discrimination is the right of every woman
An unprecedented number of countries have laws against domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of violence. Challenges remain, however, in implementing these laws, limiting women’s and girls’ access to safety and justice. Gender-based violence also impacts economic productivity and growth as women are denied or unable to exercise basic rights of education, skill development and employment.
