Socioeconomic and political status of women in Nepal
The study analyzes the existing status of women in terms of education, health, social security, employment, property rights, and participation and representation in politics and in public forums. The study recommends ensuring women’s active participation and leadership at all levels of development planning processes and in decision-making structures (political parties, government and non-government mechanisms) and the need to design women-targeted economic and political empowerment programmes.
