Pathways Towards Decent Work in the Digitally Enabled Care Economy in Southeast Asia
This report examines emerging good practices of enterprise models in the digitally enabled care economy in Southeast Asia and identifies pathways towards decent work for the predominantly female workforce.
Key findings emphasize timely opportunities for policy reforms to establish a rights-based framework for care workers, including domestic workers, and help identify targeted actions for stakeholders in the care ecosystem to accelerate progress towards the realization of decent work and women’s economic empowerment. It also encourages Digitally Enabled Care Enterprises (DECEs) and Digitally Enabled Care Workers (DECWs) to be engaged in this process.
