Before, during and after disasters and conflicts, people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics (aka LGBTIQ+ people) experience discrimination, violence and exclusion. This WorldPride 2021, we honour the work of civil society organizations in Asia and the Pacific who are working with UN Women to advance LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the humanitarian and disaster risk reduction systems. ‘The Only Way is Up: Monitoring and Encouraging Diverse SOGIESC Inclusion in the Humanitarian and DRR Sectors’ is the latest product of their journey.
