Event description

Taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 19 to 21 November, the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on the Beijing+30 Review features thematic discussion on achievements, challenges, gaps and emerging issues in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and key actions for its further implementation in Asia and the Pacific.

Across the region, the impact of women in leadership and decision-making is evident, highlighting their role in promoting more peaceful, just and inclusive societies. However, women continue to face considerable barriers to equal participation in leadership roles. This roundtable organized by UN Women and UNESCAP discusses how Asia and the Pacific can be a leading region where parity in decision-making and women's leadership is the norm. It is aimed at re-shaping the vision and pathways to achieve this goal, where women's voices are not only heard, but are instrumental in shaping our future. It offers an opportunity to change the narrative around women’s leadership by acknowledging significant achievements and addressing the enduring gaps that prevent women and young women from realizing their full potential.
