Some of the key takeaways from these meetings were the need to criminalize femicide, tackle online gender-based violence through regional cooperation, and address harmful gender stereotypes among government representatives and law enforcement officers as well as the need for long-term and flexible support to Women’s Rights Organizations.

A video documentary focused on grassroots voices and organizations sharing their stories on preventing GBV at the community level was showcased at the National Dialogue on 16 DoA. The video highlighted the tireless work these women-led organizations have been engaged in to create awareness around VAWG in climate-hot pockets, with many excluded groups such as sex workers, men and boys, and adolescents. The video ended with a call for long-term support and investment in their activism to achieve transformative change in the lives of women and girls in Bangladesh.
