The renowned singer and composer Aluna from Laos produced a song to raise awareness about the elimination of violence against women and girls.

Together with youths from the Arts Education College in Vientiane, the celebrity, who is a role model for boys and girls in her country, premiered the song on a special event hosted by the Ministry of Education and Sports and UN Women Laos.

The Vice Minister of Education and Sports, Mr. Lytou Bouapao, indicated the Ministry is targeting young people through education programmes to prevent and protect women and girls from violence.
During the event, the students were invited to work in groups to develop slogans and drawings based on the theme of Young People Working together to End Violence against Women and Girls.
The event contributed to UN the Secretary General’s UNiTE to End Violence Against Women Campaign and the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence under the theme Orange Your Hood.
