Launch of Study on Femicide “Lenyap dalam Senyap"

UN Women, through the Regional "Enhancing Access to Justice for Women in Asia and the Pacific: Bridging the gap between formal and informal systems through women’s empowerment" project funded by the Government of Sweden, supported the Indonesian National Commission of Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan) to convene the launch of the Femicide Study. UN Women has supported the development of the study. The event brought together the government, academics, experts, service providers, and the wider community. The launch aims to showcase the results of the study and share recommendations on legal and policy frameworks related to data collection.

Orange the World: Comedy and Music to EVAW

The Embassy of France, Institut Français Indonesia, UNDP, UNFPA, the UN Information Centre, UN Women, and WHO, in collaboration with Komnas Perempuan and Jakarta Feminist, jointly organized this “UNiTE” event. The one-day music and art festival aimed to mobilize public support, particularly among the youth, to speak out against gender-based violence. The event featured six selected stand-up comedians from last year’s comedy for equality workshop, stand-up comedian Sakdiyah Ma’ruf, and three musical artists. This event raised awareness and encouraged everyone to speak up and act to End Violence Against Women (EVAW).

Parliamentarians standing up to violence against women in politics

The Women's Parliamentary Caucus of the Republic of Indonesia signed a declaration to "condemn any form of gender-based violence that hinders women from fulfilling their equal rights" and to urge all groups to allow women to participate safely in politics. The document, signed at the parliament building, is the first-ever official declaration in the country that explicitly addresses gender-based violence in politics, one of the biggest obstacles to women achieving full political rights. The signing was a part of the "parliamentarians standing up to violence against women in politics" event, organized by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and UN Women Indonesia, to mark the United Nations' 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

Unite and Take Action: Implementation of Sexual Violence Law (UU TPKS)

Institut Francais Indonesie, the French Embassy, and UN Women hold a public discussion on what’s next after the passing of the long-awaited sexual violence bill. The talkshow will invite representative from Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, women crisis center, National Commision on Violence against Women, and CSO from France.

Role of Police Addressing GBV during Floods

Art Exhibition “Stories of Resistance” featuring survivors of GBV who are advocating for women's rights

16 days long exhibition, including a launch event on 25 November, of art pieces developed on lived experiences of survivors of GBV who are advocating for women's rights, screening of films developed by youths from across Nepal, and art pieces developed by Mithila artists on preventing GBV in their communities. The exhibition also includes learning tools and workshops throughout the duration of 16 days for viewers to reflect on playing a role in ending GBV.

Launch of Survivor Mapping Study

Main event bringing together government, IDPG, UN stakeholders and survivors as well as activists as advocacy to end GBV

This joint UN activity took place in Dhangadi, Far-west Nepal, drawing attention outside the capital city. The event included remarks, reflective play, creative expressions through poetry, folk song, and panel discussion. Finally, the head of agencies and ambassadors visited/spoke with service providers from One Stop Crisis Management Center.
