Summary of country-wide women’s consultations across Afghanistan: “They have silenced women’s voices”
Based on quarterly consultations from April to June 2023, this brief presents the perspectives of 592 Afghan women respondents from 22 provinces on international engagement to improve women’s rights. The majority of women reiterate that there should be no recognition of the de facto authorities, with 46 per cent saying this should not happen under any circumstances and another 50% saying it should only occur contingent upon commitments to improve women’s rights.
