For this year's celebration of the International Women's Day (IWD 2018), UN Women SCMM is planning to organize a concert/ inter-school battle of the bands (BoB) competition tentatively titled, "Breaking the Silence: Towards a Safe and Violence-Free Public Spaces for Women and Girls." The IWD 2018 is an opportune time to reach out to the public, especially the youth, for them to be part of the discussion and the solution to address sexual harassment in public spaces.
The battle of the bands competition aims convey the message that sexual harassment is an everyday battle of women and girls. The young generation, young women and men, are at the forefront of the fight to end to sexual harassment and sexual violence.
