Investing in women’s empowerment and gender equality is not just a development and human rights imperative, but is also a pathway to bridging the humanitarian-development divide and reaching the realisation of peace, stability and resilient communities in Myanmar. If:

- More women have increased livelihood security, access to decent work and safe migration; and
- More women lead and participate in peace processes, humanitarian action and disaster risk reduction
Then gender equality is advanced and women and girls in Myanmar lead, benefit from and contribute to peace, development at prosperity of the country - the ultimate goal of UN Women Myanmar. The impact areas that will contribute to these goals are leadership and governance; economic empowerment and; peace, humanitarian action and disaster risk reduction.
