International Women’s Day Celebration in the Republic of Korea

Every year, IWD is observed on 8 March to celebrate the contribution of women and girls around the world, and to reflect upon key challenges to the advancement of gender equality. This year's theme for IWD is "Invest in women: Accelerate progress."

In a world facing multiple crises that are putting immense pressure on communities, achieving gender equality is more vital than ever. Investing in women provides a sustainable foundation for building inclusive societies. Progress for women not only benefits women and girls; it benefits everyone, now and in future generations.

So, join us on 8 March 2024 at The Westin Josun Seoul, together with professionals and leaders from various fields with a collaborative spirit for gender equality. The event will take place between 11:00 and 14:00 and will feature inspiring talks, a musical performance, and a reception.

This is the second annual IWD celebration hosted by the UN Women Centre of Excellence for Gender Equality in the Republic of Korea. Detailed information will be sent to registered participants at a later date. As space is limited, please register as soon as possible, by no later than 30 January.
