Facts and figures on women and men in Viet Nam 2010-2015

With the aim to encourage institutions, organizations and individuals in society to pay attention to and use gender statistics, the Department of Gender Equality of the Ministry of the Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and UN Women Viet Nam commissioned Facts and figures on women and men in Viet Nam 2010-2015. This report presents gender statistics covering the 2010-2015 period according to six topics: population, family, education, health, labour and employment, and leadership and management. It is hoped that this report will provide useful information and data to encourage readers to understand gender inequality status in various areas; support gender analysis and forecast gender impacts of the legislation, policies and programmes on women and men to ensure the equal accessibility and participation of, and benefit for, women and men from the national social economic development.

Nhằm khuyến khích các cơ quan, tổ chức và cá nhân trong toàn xã hội quan tâm và sử dụng số liệu thống kê giới, Vụ Bình đẳng giới/Bộ Lao động-Thương binh và Xã hội và Cơ quan của Liên hợp quốc về Bình đẳng giới và Trao quyền cho phụ nữ tại Việt Nam (UN Women) xây dựng báo cáo “Thực tiễn và số liệu về phụ nữ và nam giới tại Việt Nam 2010-2015”. Báo cáo trình bày các số liệu thống kê giới trong giai đoạn 2010-2015 theo sáu chủ đề: dân số, gia đình, giáo dục, y tế, lao động việc làm và lãnh đạo-quản lý. Báo cáo cung cấp thông tin, số liệu nhằm giúp người đọc đánh giá thực trạng về mối quan hệ giới, hiểu biết thêm về những bất bình đẳng giới đang tồn tại trong xã hội; hỗ trợ việc phân tích và dự báo tác động của luật pháp, chính sách, chương trình đối với các nhóm phụ nữ và nam giới, đảm bảo họ được tiếp cận, tham gia và thụ hưởng bình đẳng từ thành quả của quá trình phát triển đất nước.
